Art Schools are institutions that generally cater to students seeking for a degree or course in painting, graphic designs, sculpture, photography, illustration and drawing. There are a lot of art schools that are available to different niche of students. Art schools also cater different ages as it ranges from elementary to post graduate studies. As a learning institution, art schools may offer various degrees and courses affiliated with fine arts and visual arts. Requirements must be met upon enrolment, especially when an art school is accredited.

Consortium of Art Schools

There are several design and art schools in the United States of America. In America, art schools offer an array of degrees, scheming from bachelor to post graduate. There are numerous schools as well that covers the basic types of variations of the study of art, from painting, design, sculpting to creative writing.

Art Schools comes in an array of establishments. Some may be small compared to others that are as big as a college. Some are private while others are public. There are numerous of these art schools in Michigan, New York and Cincinnati, as that of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and Montserrat College of Art. The largest art school in America however is the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, which comprises the largest art system in the whole world.

Some art schools partake in consortium which started around 1991. The Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design belongs to a consortium. Members of this association integrate components of art and design with liberal arts, giving students a more polished end result.

Variation of Programs is the Key

Liberal Arts Courses, nowadays, are tangled with the essential programs of art schools and universities, leaving less studio work to be haggled with. The most common type of art school is of a state or a private program that is usually tagged as a Bachelor in Arts Program, Bachelor of Fine Arts Program or of those aiming for a graduate study, such as Master in Arts or Fine Arts. Creating more emphasis on a general approach in the study of arts, art schools do not concentrate on any types of major duly because it is not accepted in accreditation or in professional organizations.

Stereotype of Art Culture

Contrary to past stereotypes, art schools, nowadays, are very much open to the public. Gone are the days where it was assumed that only the elites can afford art schools. Professional art and design schools must go under accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. There is a drive to offer not just art classes or programs, rather incorporating general education to really give individuals with Art Degrees a real leverage in the real world. Making them more competent, and authentic, so as to allow the students to receive a genuine college or university degree.

To attend online art school and ultimately become an Artist, one must desire and want such. If the passion is there, and the heart is dancing along with it, then why not become an Artist? Aesthetics of arts claims that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and only an Artist can make something beautiful – according to his will and taste, regardless of what others may think or say. It describes freedom, and that is one main reason why free spirits endow in art schools.
